WWII leather ammunition bag / case with metal base insert and twin carry handles

  

A strong dark brown leather ammunition holdall, bag, case with a metal base insert and metal top frame for added strength. The bag has twin carry handles and single fastening catch. Riveted construction and well made.

Condition: Fair functional condition and recently conditioned. The interior is raw, dry and unfinished. The case has various scuffs & marks but has a good colour and genuine patina. The bag is generally in fair condition with the exception of the where the back of the lid hinges over the inner metal frame - it has areas of wear and holes along the length and will benefit from a good repair at some point probably with a piece of reinforcing leather stuck inside.
